74The Colombo High Court has today (19) issued an order prohibiting the use of houses in a two-storey luxury housing block said to have been purchased by former minister Keheliya Rambukwella’s son, cricketer Ramith Rambukwella.
Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne issued the order following a request made by the Bribery and Corruption Commission.
Two houses in a luxury apartment block in Kollupitiya area for Rs. 8 crore, Rs. The Bribery Corruption Commission had told the court that he had bought it for 6.5 crores.
The Bribery and Corruption Investigation Commission had requested the court to issue an order prohibiting the use of the said assets as investigations are being carried out regarding the complaint made to the commission in this regard.
The Supreme Court judge, who considered the said request, issued an order banning the use of the said property till the coming 19th of December.
