Lawrence Wong installed as the 4th Prime Minister of Singapore !! An era of 59 years has come to an end!!

Chennai : Lawrence Wong of Singapore was sworn in as the new Prime Minister yesterday.

Lee Hsien Loong, who has been the Prime Minister of Singapore for the past 20 years, is stepping down. Also, Lawrence Wonk, who was the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, formally assumed the post of Prime Minister last night. Also, he is the 4th Prime Minister of Singapore. Thus, it can be said that an era in the history of Singapore that lasted for 59 years has come to an end.

That is, since Singapore became an independent country in 1965, Singapore has had only 3 Prime Ministers until now. All of them belong to the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) and belong to the same family. Lee Kuan Yew was elected as the first Prime Minister of Singapore. He is considered to be the founder of modern Singapore.

He is also the father of the now deposed Lee Hsien Loong-kin. It is noteworthy that he led Singapore for 25 consecutive years. Lee Hsien joined the party in 1984 while his father was still in power, trying to serve the people. He rose to prominence under Singapore’s 2nd Prime Minister Koh Sok Tong and died in Singapore in 2004.

Now, after 59 years without anyone from the ‘Lee’ family becoming the next prime minister, this record has been made available to senior party member Lawrence Wong. Singapore’s economy has diversified and grown under Lee Hsien Loong’s rule over the past 20 years. Also, the country became an international financial powerhouse and a top tourist destination. Moreover, it is noteworthy that the gross domestic product has more than doubled in these 20 years.
