MG Motor Company has launched the updated second generation version of HS SUV model which is sold in UK. The second generation MG HS SUV has been launched with more space, more space and more features than the first generation model.
The new HS model is 14 mm wider, 26 mm longer and has a 30 mm larger wheelbase than the previous model. However, the height alone has decreased by 30 mm over the previous model. As far as the engine is concerned it is the same engine used in the previous first generation model. But, power levels change.
The petrol engine offered in the second generation HS model is capable of producing 170hp. Along with this petrol engine model, there is also a plug-in hybrid model. The electric motor offered in this hybrid model produces 208hp, 86hp more than the first generation model. The hybrid model’s powertrain produces a total of 300hp.
Also, the battery capacity of the second generation HS Hybrid model has been increased to 24.7kWh. A range of 120 km can be achieved with this increased battery capacity. Along with this, this second generation MG HS SUV model has rear parking sensor, keyless entry, 6 way adjustable driver seat, 12.3 inch infotainment screen. Also, the second generation model has 507 liters of boot space. This is 44 liters more than the previous model.
MG Motor plans to launch only the Cloud EV and Cluster facelift in India this year. The HS SUV model is expected to be brought to India later. If it is brought to India, this HS SUV model will be sold as a model between the Hector and Cluster SUV models sold by the company in India.
