Vikram Rathore: Vikram Rathore has spoken about the captaincy of Indian youngster Subman Gill’s recent performance.
Subman Gill led India for the first time during the tour of Zimbabwe and under his captaincy the young Indian side won the series 4-1. Gill also led the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. Subsequently, Subman Gill has also been appointed as the vice-captain in the series with the Sri Lankan team.
Currently, Vikram Rathore, the former batting coach of the Indian team, has given an interview to a private television about him and his captaincy. In that interview he said, “I have seen Gill in every game, especially for Gujarat Titans or the Zimbabwe series. He has played a very good game.
This is essential when you are leading a team. Now with the position of vice-captain, the BCCI has given him an additional responsibility. Also, I am sure he will do well in this vice-captain role. Just as Virat and Rohit have brought out their best in captaincy, Gill will be the captain.
At the same time, he is yet to become the captain but I am sure that being in the leadership team will bring out the best in him. In this situation, being in charge of leading others gives him an added sense of responsibility and I believe that one day he will lead the Indian team in all three forms of cricket (50 overs, Tests, T20s),” said Vikram Rathore in an interview.
