District-wise printed notes and textbooks were sent from TBI campus Chennai to provide textbooks to all students on the first day of school opening. Then under the supervision of the District Chief Education Officer each school headmaster came in person and took away the textbooks.

Earned leave can be taken
In the reply given by the Joint Director of School Education, it has been asked how many days a teacher can take EL, i.e. Earned Leave, if he is not present on the first day after 40 days of leave after the end of the full year examination or on the first day of school. It has been answered that it is sufficient to give earned leave for the first day only. Similarly, it has been said that earned leave can be taken only on the first day after the end of the quarterly vacation.
