Power cut tomorrow in Pattabram, Sekkadu area
A 110 / 11 KW sub-station is operational at Pattabram, Gopalapuram next to Avadi. There are three power converters with a capacity of 16000 kilowatts.
From here electricity is supplied to Pattabram, Sekkadu, Thandarai, Kannapalayam, Avadi Kamaraj Nagar, Paruthipattu and Melpakkam areas.
In this case, last 4th midnight, there was a big fire in the power control cable due to power leakage. In this, two transformers with a capacity of 16000 kilowatts are on fire. As a result, 46,000 houses in the above-mentioned areas were left without electricity and plunged into darkness. The public suffered greatly from the heat.
Following this, the transformer brought from Tirumudivakkam Industrial Estate last week was installed. However, for the past few days, people have been suffering from unannounced power outages and low voltage problems at night. When asked about this, the concerned officials said, ‘During the fire, the concrete floor where the transformer is installed has been completely damaged. The staff are working to repair it. After the completion of those works, the installation of the third transformer will take place,” he said.
In this case, the power board has announced that power will be cut in the following areas from 9:00 am to 12:00 am tomorrow for the installation and repair work of the third transformer.
In the notification issued in this regard, for the above work, Pattabhiram, Thandarai, Ayyappan Nagar, Sekkadu, Gopalapuram, Thenar Nagar, Mullai Nagar, Pattabhiram South Bazaar, Vallalar Nagar, Venkatapuram, Chennai — Tiruthani National Highway, Charles Nagar, Anna Nagar, Drivers Colony, Modern City. , Kamarajapuram, Shastri Nagar, I.A.F., Road and other areas will be cut off, the Electricity Board has announced.
