Southwest Monsoon started in Kerala on May 30. Ever since it started, the rain has been pouring in various parts of the state. As a result, all the water bodies in the state are filling up fast. Landslides have also occurred in some places including Thiruvananthapuram and Idukki which are flooded.

Heavy rains continue in various parts of the state. Widespread good rains occurred in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and other districts yesterday. In this case, heavy rain will continue in Kerala in the coming days
India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The Indian Meteorological Department has also warned that heavy rain will fall in the districts of Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad and Kozhikode today. Orange alert has also been issued in these 4 districts. Also yellow alert has been issued for Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.

The Indian Meteorological Department has also warned that there is a chance of thundershowers at a few places today. The India Meteorological Department has also said that wind speed will be between 35 kmph to 45 kmph and up to 55 kmph along and off the Kerala coast. The meteorological department has also advised fishermen not to go to sea.

The Indian Meteorological Department said the sea will remain rough on Sunday and the wind speed will be between 45 kmph to 55 kmph with gusts of up to 65 kmph.
