Also, a low pressure circulation is prevailing over coastal areas of South Andhra North Tamil Nadu and a low pressure circulation is prevailing over South Tamil Nadu, due to which light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning and strong winds may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today, Tirupur, Nilgiris. The Meteorological Department has also said that there is a possibility of heavy rain at the hilly areas of Theni Dindigul districts and Tirupathur Vellore Ranipet Tiruvannamalai Tiruvallur Kanchipuram districts.
