T20I : Asia Cup is a series played by Asian countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal. Even recently, the Asia Cup series for girls was held. It is noteworthy that the Sri Lankan women’s team defeated the Indian team and won the Asia Cup for the first time.
In this case, the Asian Cricket Council has announced where the Asia Cup series will be held until the year 2027. Accordingly, they are going to hold the Asia Cup series for the next year i.e. 2025 in India. Also, they have said that this series will be conducted in T20 format.
The biennial Asia Cup will be held before the T20 World Cup to be held in India in 2026. So next year they will host the Asia Cup series.
It is noteworthy that the Indian team won the trophy for the 8th time by easily defeating the Sri Lankan team in the final of the Men’s Asia Cup series held last year. Similarly, the last Asia Cup was held in India in 1990-1991 and the Indian team won the trophy.
After that no Asia Cup series was held in India. Now after 34 years, the fans of the Indian team are very excited as they are going to host the Asia Cup in India.
Also, it is to be noted that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jadeja will not play due to the ongoing Asia Cup T20 series and they announced rest with the ongoing T20 World Cup series.
