The new BMW CE 04 electric scooter has been launched at a price of Rs 14.90 lakh

BMW CE 04: Features

BMW has provided LED lights, 10.25 inch TFT display with Bluetooth facility, keyless ignition, 3 riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road), ABS, switchable traction control and reverse mode in this affordable electric scooter.

Along with this, the new BMW CE 04 has been released in two colors, Blue and White, with the facilities of ventilated storage compartment, USB Type-C charger for smartphones and side mounted storage compartment.

A telescopic fork at the front and an offset monoshock suspension setup are used at the rear. This electric scooter has a seat height of 780 mm and weighs 231 kg. Although it looks small, it weighs as much as a BMW R 1300 GS bike.

BMW CE 04: Electric motor

This CE 04 electric scooter has a liquid cooled Permanent Magnetic Motor. The CE 04 is India’s first scooter with a liquid-cooled electric motor.

This electric motor is capable of producing 42hp of power and 62Nm of torque. With a top speed of 120 kmph, this electric motor can reach 50 kmph in 2.6 seconds.

BMW CE 04: Battery and Range

BMW has provided an 8.5kWh battery in this CE 04 electric scooter. With this battery you can travel up to 130 km on a single charge. BMW offers a 2.3kW charger as standard and an optional 6.9kW fast charger for this electric scooter.

This luxury electric scooter can be fully charged in 4 hours 20 minutes using the standard charger and 1 hour 40 minutes using the aforementioned fast charger.

Scooters selling above Rs 10 lakh:

BMW has announced that the deliveries of the electric scooter will begin from September, with bookings already open.

Apart from the CE 04, there are only two scooters selling above the Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom price in India. One is the Vespa 946 Dragon Edition. The scooter is priced slightly lower than the CE 04 at Rs 14.28 lakh ex-showroom.

Another is BMW’s C 400 GT. BMW launched this fuel scooter in India a few years back. The scooter is currently priced at Rs 11.25 lakh ex-showroom.

Electric bike with similar power:

This CE 04 Electric is one of the few electric scooters available in India with an electric motor that can churn out 42hp power. But the ‘Ultraviolet F77 Mach 2’ electric bike has almost similar power and torque levels.

The bike is powered by an electric motor that produces 40.2hp of power and 100Nm of torque. However, the bike is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh ex-showroom, which is much lower than the CE 04 electric scooter.
