District Governor Pradeep Kumar today inaugurated Trichy Sangamam Namma Ooru festival to celebrate the arts of Tamil land on behalf of Art and Culture Department Regional Art and Culture Center at St. John Vestry Anglo Indian Secondary School near Trichy Central Bus Stand and gave away the District Arts Forum Awards.
Sangamam Namma Ooru Festival was ordered by the Government of Tamil Nadu to nurture folk arts and artists, to celebrate the cultural values of the Tamil people and to create good opportunities for the artists.
Based on that, Tiruchi Sangamam Namma Oor Festival organized by Tamil Nadu Government Department of Art and Culture Zonal Art and Culture Center today 26.07.2024 to 27.07.2024 for two days from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm at Trichy St. John Vestry Anglo Indian Secondary School Sports Ground.

More than 375 folk artistes from various parts of Tamil Nadu like Trichy, Karur, Pudukottai, Perambalur and Ariyalur will participate in “Tiruchi Sangamam Namma Oor Festival” featuring folk songs, Bharathanatyam, Mayilattam, Kavadiyattam, Chakkaikuchiyattam, Tappatam, Devarattam, Naiyandimelam, Puliyattam, Theaanatanam, Tappatam. A rural arts festival including Karakatam, Kaliyattam, Palsuai dance performance, Vallitrumanam drama, rural song was held.
