We will not give up the principle and get funding

“We are not asking for money for the PM Sri project. We are asking for money only for Samagra Siksha Abhiyan project. Therefore, we will not get funds from the central government by giving up the policy for any reason, except that we have asked them to kindly give the funds without tying this and that,” Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahes Poiyamozhi said in Trichy today.

State level training was imparted to laboratory assistants working in all types of laboratories in government high and secondary schools. Minister of School Education Anbil Mahes issued a training manual titled ‘Responsibilities and Duties of Laboratory Assistants’ at a ceremony held in Trichy to 4952 laboratory assistants who participated in this training.

Later, Minister Anbil Mahes Poiyamozhi told reporters; The Chief Secretary had written a letter to the Central Government. In that letter, the central government should provide the installment funds due to the Tamil Nadu government. We are requesting funds for Samagra Siksha Abhiyan project. But, you are replying with PM Shri project in mind.

It is a pleasure to say that quality education is being imparted through the PM Sri programme. While providing quality education, you are introducing new curriculum. We cannot accept that. Therefore, the Government of Tamil Nadu is setting up a committee headed by our Principal Secretary. He had made it clear that we will take a decision depending on what the committee recommends to the government.

Only after setting up the committee and meeting the central minister, our committee did not agree to the demands of the central government. We are not asking for money for PM Shri project. We are asking for money only for Samagra Siksha Abhiyan project. Therefore, we have asked to kindly give the funds without tying this and that, but we will not give up the policy for any reason and get funds from the central government, he said.

As mentioned in the reply letter written by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, we have not agreed to the MoU for PM Shree Schools Scheme. He informed that there is a letter written by the Chief Secretary as proof.

District Collector Pradeep Kumar and School Education Department officials, teachers and students participated in this program.
