Southwest Monsoon is intensifying in various parts of the country. The white rains have taken a break in the state of Kerala. At the same time, heavy rains are lashing northern states and north-eastern states. The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains will continue in various parts of the state for the next 5 days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of very heavy rain at a few places in North and North-Eastern parts of Uttarakhand, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram. Similarly, the India Meteorological Department has said that very heavy rain will fall in a few parts of Tripura and Gujarat states.

Assam continues to receive heavy rains. Various parts of the state are reeling under floods. More than 40 people have died in Assam due to floods and landslides so far. The states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram are being monitored.

The Indian Meteorological Department said that the states of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim and West Bengal will experience heavy rainfall. According to the India Meteorological Department, the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Kerala will receive heavy rainfall.
