French carmaker Renault is gearing up to launch the third generation Duster model in India next year. Renault stopped the sale of Duster model in India last year 2022. Following that, the new model will be released next year. Renault currently sells only Kwid, Kaikar and Driper models in India.
Renault introduced the first generation Duster model in India in 2012. The model was sold in the Indian mid-size SUV segment for ten consecutive years until 2022. While the sale of the first generation Duster model has been stopped in 2022, the company is planning to release the third generation model directly in India, excluding the second generation Duster.
New Renault Duster:
Renault subsidiary Dacia launched the new Duster model globally in November last year. The new model will be launched in Europe this year and will be launched in India next year. Renault expects this new Duster model to be a turning point for its sales growth in India.
New Renault Duster: Design
This new Duster model is also built on the CMF-B platform, which is used by various cars from Dacia, Renault and Nissan. We can also see an off-roader rocket design on the new Duster. The new third-generation Duster has taken some design inspiration from Dacia’s Pixar concept model.
The new third generation Duster has a unique design with Y-shaped DRLs, large air dam, circular fog lights and the Renault name emblazoned on the grille. Also, the new Duster gets 18-inch alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches and roof rails.
New Renault Duster: Interior
The interior of the new Duster has also been redesigned. The new Duster features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, 6-speaker Argamis sound system, cruise control and wireless charging.
New Renault Duster: Engine
The new Duster model also has a variety of engine options. In Europe, it is currently available with a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid engine, a 1.2-litre mild hybrid turbo petrol engine and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG engine in some other markets, with two electric motors producing 140hp.
The Duster is not sold with a diesel engine in any market. Also, it is noteworthy that the Duster is being sold with two types of drive options namely 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive. It remains to be seen which engine options Renault will launch the new Duster model in India.
