Automakers are selling CNG-equipped models for customers who want more mileage. Honda has not yet sold CNG model cars or CNG kits. But now it has been reported that Honda is providing CNG kits to its customers through dealers.
An automobile vlogger from North India had his Amaze car fitted with a CNG kit at a Honda dealership. He also informed that this CNG kit is provided by Honda company through dealers.
Not only the Amaze, the Elevate and City models sold by Honda in India can also be equipped with such a CNG kit. This CNG kit can be fitted on manual variants of Honda cars. It has also been revealed that this CNG kit is from a popular aftermarket brand called Lovato.
This CNG kit offered in Honda cars takes up 60L of boot space. Tata’s CNG cars will have a dual-cylinder setup. But since this CNG kit has a single cylinder setup, the boot space may not be as usable as before. But you can get full mileage at a lower price instead.
For this aftermarket CNG kit one would have to pay Rs 75,000 to Rs 85,000. Also, this CNG kit comes with a warranty of up to 1 year at dealership level. As such, Honda has not made any official announcement about the CNG kit being offered exclusively for Honda cars at dealerships. Honda car owners can approach their nearest dealership for details on this CNG kit.
