6A woman was arrested today (09) for stealing the talisman and jewelery of the servants who came for Kumbabhishekam at Kannathiti Kali Temple in Jaffna.
The police said that a 27-year-old woman from Wellampittia, Colombo, who lives in Vavuniya flower garden, was arrested.
When the woman was arrested and interrogated at the Jaffna police station, the stolen talikodi and jewelery were recovered from inside the woman’s underwear.
The woman has been handed over to the Jaffna Regional Crime Prevention Unit for further investigation and steps have been taken to proceed to court.
