Muthukumar, a lorry driver, hails from Panaiyakurichi near Tiruverumpur in Trichy district. His wife Saraswati and their sons are Thangavel and the youngest is Kompan Jagan (30). He has a wife and a daughter. Jagan studied up to 12th standard.
He was involved in 11 murder cases directly and as a mercenary in places like Trichy Tollgate, Manchanallur, Pondicherry, Salem, Namakkal. Also, various cases including mercenary action, Kattapanjayat, assault etc. are pending. So, he was in hiding.
In this case, the Special Police Force formed on the orders of the District Superintendent of Police Varun Kumar received information that the rowdy Jagan was hiding in the Sanamangalam forest area near Sirukanur and hunting wild animals. Based on that, the special forces police went to the area and surrounded the raider. When the police tried to catch him, S.I. Rowdy Jagan tried to escape by cutting Vinothy with a sickle.
Immediately, Special Police Assistant Inspector Karunakaran fired with the pistol he kept for protection. In that, Rowdy Jagan was injured by 2 bullets. The police caught him and took him to Lalgudi Government Hospital. Rowdy Jagan died last year (22.11.2023) after being seriously injured in police firing.
In this case, a rowdy has threatened to kill Trichy District Police Superintendent Varunkumar on Instagram. One of Jagan’s accomplices has posted a picture on Instagram and threatened the Trichy District SP with a photo. The police have registered a case in this regard and are looking for the person who issued the threat. The District Superintendent of Police has posted a photo on Rowdy’s Instagram site and said, ‘Heads will be scattered soon,’ which is causing a lot of buzz in the police circles.
