Pilli Dharani Sathya (23), a female engineer from Andhra Pradesh, is working in an IT company in Perungalathur, near Chennai.
While talking on his cell phone near the Perungalathur railway gate this morning, he died on the spot when he was hit by an antiyothiya express train from Tirunelveli towards Tambaram while crossing the tracks.
Tambaram railway police have seized the body and are investigating.
In Vandalur, Perungalathur and Iruvanliyur areas, mostly women and youths cross the restricted railway tracks while talking on cell phones and listening to songs, thus the number of people who die in train accidents in the region has increased.
