KTM’s Plan:
This time KTM is entering the big bike market of India with a solid long-term plan. Since these are premium bikes, the company plans to sell them only in premium showrooms.
Yes, there are dedicated showrooms for KTM’s big engined bikes and only those premium bikes are going to be sold through them. Initially, these premium showrooms are expected to be set up in metro cities only.
What bikes?
Following the dedicated showrooms, KTM has decided to sell the larger engined bikes at existing KTM showrooms as well, depending on the demand. That means if it is not possible to set up a separate showroom for bikes with bigger engines in smaller cities, the company can sell those bikes through existing showrooms.
According to the current information, KTM is going to launch the 890 Adventurer, 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R with big engines in India.
Will the 790 Duke model also be launched?
The company has earlier launched the 790 Duke, the entry-level model of KTM’s premium bikes in India. However, due to poor sales, its sales were discontinued. So, it is expected that KTM will not bring that model back to India.
Which bikes are KTM currently selling in India?
Currently, KTM is selling two models in the 125cc segment, the 125 Duke and the RC 125. KTM sells the 200 Duke and RC 200 in the 200cc segment and the 250 Duke and 250 Adventurer in the 250cc segment.
In the 390cc bike segment, KTM is selling 6 bike models namely 390 Duke, RC 390, RC GP, 390 Adventurer X, 390 Adventurer, 2023 390 Adventurer. Now along with these smaller engined models, we can also buy KTM’s bigger engined bike models.
