Norwegian Chess: Pragnananda, the young chess grandmaster of Tamil Nadu, stunned by defeating the world chess champion Ding Lirin in the 7th round of the Norwegian chess series. At the end of the 6th round, Alireza lost to Firozja and remained in 3rd place.
Then in the 7th round of the Norwegian Chess Series, Pragnananda advanced to the 3rd place by drawing the world chess champion Ding Lirin of China in the first classical round and defeating him in the next round. In the 8th round of the Norwegian chess series that followed, Tamil Nadu player Pragnananda played against Magnus Carlsen.
The two tied in the first round, and then in the final round, Magnus Carlsen defeated Pragnananda to regain the top spot. With this, Pragnananda remains at the 3rd position.
