Following the 2024 general elections, the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and ministers will be held tomorrow (09), Sunday.
For this event, heads of India’s foreign countries and countries in the Indian Ocean region have been invited as special guests.
Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Kalanithi Muhammad Muisu, Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Abib, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mauritius Prime Minister Praveen Kumar Jagnath, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Tahal Prasanda and Bhutan Prime Minister Tsering Topke have accepted the invitation to attend the event.
The leaders attending the swearing-in ceremony will also participate in a banquet hosted by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan that evening.
It is noteworthy that these leaders are visiting to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the third term, based on the high priority given by India to India’s Neighbor First Policy and Sagar Doctrine.
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance has won 292 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP has won 240 seats. The support of 272 MPs is required to form the government at the Centre. BJP did not get absolute majority. Thus, the BJP is ruling with the strength of the alliance. The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi was held yesterday at his residence in Delhi. A resolution was passed in this meeting recommending the dissolution of the 17th Lok Sabha to allow the new cabinet to take office. It was decided to forward this resolution to the President.
Following this, Modi met President Draupadi Murmu and submitted his letter of resignation as Prime Minister and the Cabinet meeting’s recommendation to dissolve the 17th Lok Sabha. Accepting his resignation, the President asked the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet to continue in office till a new government is formed.
Later, a meeting of leaders of the National Democratic Alliance parties was held at Prime Minister Modi’s residence last evening.
In this meeting, Chandrababu Naidu, Nitish Kumar, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Lok Janashakti Party President Chirak Paswan, Majda President H.T. Kumaraswamy and others participated.
In this meeting, Chandrababu Naidu, Nitish Kumar and others presented a letter of unconditional support to Prime Minister Modi for the formation of a BJP government at the center under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
