Pollachi is the 21st out of 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu. Consists of 6 assembly constituencies namely Thondamuthur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi, Valparai (Separate), Udumalai Petty, Madathikulam. Agriculture has been the livelihood of most people in Pollachi.
Industries such as coconut trading, sapling trading, coconut fiber, furniture are widespread. Pollachi has been a stronghold of the ADMK. The constituency has seen 18 elections since 1951. In the year 1971, it has had a by-election once. A.DMK It has won 7 times here. DMK has won 5 times, Congress 3 times, MDMK 2 times and Tamil State Congress 1 time.
After almost 36 years, DMK won the Pollachi constituency in the last election. After 1980, DMK vowed to win the 2019 elections here. Pollachi Constituency has a total of 15,81,795 voters. Out of this, there are 8,15,428 female voters, 7,66,077 male voters and 290 third gender voters. As it is one of the important constituencies of Kongu Mandal, this constituency has received attention in this election.

2019 Lok Sabha Election Results
K. Shanmugasundaram, who contested on behalf of DMK in the last election, won by securing 5,54,230 votes. AIADMK candidate C. Mahendran got 3,78,347 votes and lost. In this constituency, Moogambikai of Kamal Makkal Neeti Maiyam secured 59,693 votes and came 3rd.
2014 Election Results
C who contested on behalf of ADMK in this election. Mahendran got 4,17,092 votes. CPM candidate Iswaran secured 2,76,118 and came second. Pongalure No. of DMK who got 2,51,829 votes. Palaniswami finished 3rd and failed. ADMK Mahendran won this election.
2009 election results
ADMK won this election too. K. contested on behalf of ADMK. Sukumar won by securing 3,05,935 votes. DMK’s K. Shanmugasundaram got 2,59,910 votes, CMD’s Best Ramasamy got 1,03,004 votes, and DMK’s K. B. Thangavel got 38,824 votes.
