Tenkasi Lok Sabha Constituency consists of six assembly constituencies namely Thenkasi, Kadayanallur, Vasudevanallur (Separate), Sankarankovil (Separate), Srivilliputhur (Separate) and Rajapalayam.

There are 7,42,158 male voters, 7,73,822 female voters and 203 third gender voters, totaling 15,16,183 voters.

2019 Lok Sabha Elections

It has so far won 9 times in Tenkasi constituency, which is the stronghold of the Congress party. Therefore, while the Congress party has been continuously contesting here, in the last 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the DMK contested and won here. The party’s candidate, Dhanush M. Kumar, secured 4,76,156 votes and became the MP.

Devendrakula Velalar Samuthya is contested by two political party leaders Krishnasamy and John Pandian and this constituency has gained star status. In the ongoing parliamentary elections, 10,58,987 votes have been cast in Tenkasi constituency. The total voter turnout was 67.57%.
