South Africa beat Bangladesh and reached the ‘Super 8’ round

21Sri Lanka will face Nepal in the early hours of today (12) morning (Sri Lanka time) for their narrow chance to advance to the next round of the T20 World Cup Super 8 after South Africa’s sensational win over Bangladesh in the Group D match.

Having lost in the first two matches, the Sri Lankan team has suffered setbacks in net run rate as well. However, it is imperative to beat Kathucutti team Nepal to maintain their chances.

While the Bangladesh team has lost to South Africa in this, the team and the Netherlands have a high chance of advancing to the Super 8 round as the next team.

Both these teams will conduct a multi-test tomorrow. This match will be a decisive match to advance to the next round.

If Sri Lanka win today’s match and Netherlands win against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka can fight to keep their chances.

The Sri Lankan team will face the Netherlands on June 17 in their final match of the preliminary round. On the same day, Bangladesh will play a multi-Test match against Nepal.

In this context, if the Nepalese team loses their remaining matches, the Sri Lankan team of Bangladesh and the Netherlands will get 2 points each. In this case, the team will be selected to advance to the next round based on the net run rate. This will also require Sri Lanka to win their remaining two matches by a wide margin.

Sri Lanka will face Nepal today at Loader Hill. Rainy conditions are expected to continue as the match takes place on Tuesday night US time.
