Tamil Nadu Transgender Welfare Board is organizing a special camp for transgenders on June 21 at the district collector’s office premises. It is reported that the camp aims to provide social security and recognition to transgender people.
In this upcoming camp, various departments of the government will be coordinated for transgenders
Besides providing welfare assistance, it also ensures that they benefit from government schemes.
The Tamil Nadu government established this board in 2008 for the first time in the country. All transgenders in the district should participate in this camp and express their grievances Chennai Collector Rashmi Siddharth Jagade has requested.
