There are 67,000 booths in Tamil Nadu. Congress party leader Ajay Kumar has said that 30,000 of them are unoccupied.
Congress General Committee meeting was held at Sathyamurthy Bhawan, Chennai. Former and current leaders of the party attended and gave advice. Tamil Nadu High Commissioner Ajay Kumar attended and spoke.
Speaking then, he said that the rural local body elections are going to be held in December this year. We must win this election. For that you have to go door to door and ask for votes. It should be done. The easiest thing to do is talk. And talking politics is a very simple task.
I have asked legislators and parliamentarians to go on foot pilgrimage. Only then can they see real Congressmen in the field.
District leaders should undertake Yatra in their district. When our leader walks 4000 km, can’t you go on a pilgrimage of 100 km? Do this from tomorrow.
Please don’t come to me and tell me that I have no respect and that I have no ticket in the election? How can you get respect if you don’t do all this? How to get tickets?
If you walk 10 kilometers a day for 10 days, I will say this to the members of the Legislative Assembly and do this. District leaders should go first. Subsequently the members of the Legislative Assembly should do this. Finally, the state president and officials will undertake a yatra across Tamil Nadu. Only if we do that, we will be able to win more seats when talking to the alliance party leaders about the constituency distribution.
As far as our party is concerned, there is no problem with ideology! It is an example to the world that the best leader is the best policy in the whole of India.
No party can win without hard work. Congress party should remember our Kamaraj and act keeping in mind how he acted.
Make a plan for the district leaders and take a walk in your district. All 77 district leaders will have to walk and next month, members of the assembly and parliament will go and finally the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president will walk.
