US-based Elon Musk’s Tesla has filed a lawsuit against India-based Tesla Power, accusing it of using its company name in violation of regulations. While Elon Musk’s Tesla manufactures and sells electric cars worldwide, the Tesla Power plant in Gurugram manufactures batteries for electric vehicles.
Currently Elon Musk’s Tesla has filed a case against Tesla Power in the Delhi High Court. Earlier in 2022, Elon Musk’s Tesla Company told the court that it had sent a notice to Tesla Power to stop using their name.
Tesla Power, which has responded to the court, has said that they do not manufacture electric cars, and that Elon Musk’s Tesla Company is not affiliated with them and has not advertised anywhere. Also, Tesla Power has stated that it is not trying to confuse customers by using the two Tesla names.
Following this, the Delhi High Court adjourned the case to May 22, ordering Tesla Power to respond in writing within the next three weeks. In this case, Elon Musk’s Tesla is apparently asking Tesla Power to permanently stop using the name. Also, the name ‘Tesla Power USA’ is being used by the Indian Tesla company.
Earlier, Elon Musk was coming to India to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 21, but suddenly Elon Musk canceled the plan due to work load. But instead of coming to India, it was reported that Elon Musk had gone to China to discuss automation technology with the country’s officials.
